About Me

My photo
I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

A Daughter's InheritanceA Daughter's Inheritance by Tracie Peterson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This ebook was free from Barnes and Noble when I downloaded it to my Nook library. I chose it because I enjoy historical fiction with romance. I recently grouped all the free books in my library by Tracie Peterson, and these will be read this year.

This is the first book of The Broadmoor Legacy, and the authors (Judith Miller is the second author) did not intend for this to be a stand-alone because the book ends too aburptly for my taste. That is why it only gets 3 stars instead of 4.

I only recommend it to fans of other books by Tracie Peterson.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book of the Time-Life The Civil War series has been on my home library shelf since 1984. This year I intend to read the text in all 26 books of the series. I only enjoyed the pictures before.

The Brain's Way of Healing: Remarkable Discoveries and Recoveries from the Frontiers of NeuroplasticityThe Brain's Way of Healing: Remarkable Discoveries and Recoveries from the Frontiers of Neuroplasticity by Norman Doidge
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I appreaciate medical nonfiction books that explain information to me in understandable terms. I enjoyed reading about information that may help patients with Parkinson Disease, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, dyslexia, listening, and seeing as there is more research into neuroplasticity of the brain.
I recommend this book to all readers, for nearly all readers have some contact with others who may benefit from the information some day.

The Substitute (The Wedding Pact, #1)The Substitute by Denise Grover Swank
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This ebook was free from Barnes and Noble when I downloaded it to my Nook library.

I enjoyed the premise of the book and its characters. The 2 stars are because the sex scenes were TMI for this prude. I kept reading in order to find out how the author might wrap up the entanglements.
