The Jungle Books by Rudyard Kipling

This ebook has been in my Nook library since I downloaded it for free from Barnes in Noble, about October 2010. It is part of the Barnes and Noble Classics. Kipling originally published two Jungle Books in 1894 and 1895. I enjoyed reading the extra materials too.
These stories are not the Disney version. The stories remain entertaining and thought-provoking.
I encourage all readers to enjoy this classic.

I downloaded this ebook to my Nook library in 2012 when it was free from Barnes and Noble. I knew it was in the Christian fiction genre.
I enjoyed the mystery but the proselytizing was coming from too many supporting characters to suit me.
I recommend it to fans of that genre.

Miller's Valley by Anna Quindlen

This book will be the May selection for my book club. I anticipate the members will have a lively discussion for I am excited about Quindlen's proficiency with the craft of writing and storytelling.
When I was a teenager there were many newspaper accounts of meetings about a proposed dam 40 miles from my hometown. The dam was finally built in 1974, and Brookville Lake, Indiana was formed. I remember riding with my parents through the area which would become a drowned town, and I imagined how sad some people would be, would scuba divers ever go through a steepled church, and how it might look. The book ends 50 years later, and I know that 44 years is enough time for some people to think the lake was always there.
I recommend this book for all readers.

I did not finish the ebook because I was annoyed at the frequency I was confused by scene shifts and characters with similar names (Lydia, Lou, and Lizzie.)

This ebook has been in my Nook library since I downloaded a free copy from Barnes and Noble in 2012. It is a Prologue imprint, "serving as inspiration for contemporary literature, a vibrant living record of crime...genre." It was originally published in 1973, and it still holds up 45 years later. I recommend it to fans of the revenge crime genre.
