This ebook was the February 2021 Serial Reads from Barnes and Noble.
I took a star away because this prude did not need the scenes of Dr. Viveca's sexual awakening in a story that might have been read by younger girls who may have been interested in the black-historical fiction in a time when Blacks made communities in rural Michigan and when becoming a doctor for a woman of any color was difficult.

I downloaded this romance when it was offered for free as part of Barnes and Noble's #monthofthanks promotion in 2020.
I took away a star because I thought this book needed editing down about 100 pages because both of our protagonists do too much ruminating. They could benefit with counseling from someone other than well-meaning family members.

This has been in my Nook library since 2013 when I downloaded it for free from Barnes and Noble.
I enjoyed the characters of Grif Shawn and Kit Craig, and recommend it to adult readers who might be surprised to enjoy a mystery with a para-normal spice to it.
