This e-book has been in My Digital Library since July 14, 2016. The time in the novel is 1964 and set in small-town Kentucky. Yes, it is Christian Inspirational Fiction with the father hoping to be permanently hired at a local church. This book reminds me of the movie, Because of Winn-Dixie when Jocie's dog prayer is answered

I highly recommend it.
