Everything Is Tuberculosis: The History and Persistence of Our Deadliest Infection by
John Green
My rating:
5 of 5 stars
I borrowed this book from my local library after I watched an interview with the author John Green.
Green makes the reader care about the subject of tuberculosis by introducing us to one person named Henry and weaving his story through the information about tuberculosis. While I was in high school, a local sanatorium refocused its purpose and was no longer for TB patients. I remember my parents always added Christmas Seals to their Christmas cards. During my career as a pharmacist, I only knew one person who was treated for tuberculosis and he was still living when I retired. I do not remember the last time I was required to get a TB Tine test for employment.
Green asks good questions about where and why treatment is not possible for too many people.
