Lights Out: A Cyberattack, A Nation Unprepared, Surviving the Aftermath by
Ted Koppel
My rating:
4 of 5 stars
I read the book because I was interested in what Ted Koppel had to say about the subject. I live in a rural area where the electricity may go off for hours at a time, especially during icy conditions so you learn to prepare for situations like that and trust your utility company is working hard to restore power. In recent years, there was a severe wind storm that knocked out power in our region. My power was restored within a day, but there were some people who were without power for a week.
These problems are, for the most part, with poles and lines; they are not problems Koppel wants to discuss about computer communication for control over systems and equipment.
Koppel can be repetitive at times. He gives stuff to think about and discuss with others.
This book could be one to recommend to a book club.
