I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

City Love (City Love, #1)City Love by Susane Colasanti
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I downloaded this free e-book in February 2018, and it has been in My Digital Library.
It is a romance for teenage girls who like to imagine life after high school when things have to get better. It is the first of a trilogy, and I do not need to read more than this first one to know I am not her target market.

Redemption: The Irish Castle (Glenncailty Castle #1)Redemption: The Irish Castle by Lila Dubois
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This e-book was in My Digital Library since October 2017.
I enjoyed the blossoming love story. The sex scenes were a bit too graphic for this prude.
It is an entertaining read.

The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative BattlesThe War of Art: Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles by Steven Pressfield
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book was recommended during a Verbal to Visual Q&A event in the chat. So, I requested it from my local library to read. I waited at least six weeks before my request was available to check out.
Was that just a form of procrastination?
It does help to read that the only way is though when procrastination and interruptions abound in my life.
Yes, some days, I need to be reminded of my own self-sabotage.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in My Digital Library since September 1, 2017.
I enjoyed reading this mystery because the author did a good job of pacing the story so that I wanted to keep reading when my break time was over and I was eager to pick it up again as soon as possible.

V is for Vengeance (Kinsey Millhone, #22)V is for Vengeance by Sue Grafton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was given this book in 2012 because my mother and my aunt read it and they "knew" I would enjoy it.
I did enjoy reading it when I finally started it in 2026. I enjoy mysteries with quirky characters told by the excellent storyteller that Sue Grafton was.

The Art of Spending Money: Simple Choices for a Richer LifeThe Art of Spending Money: Simple Choices for a Richer Life by Morgan Housel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was recommended and summarized in Alex & Books newsletter. It was one of his top 10 favorites in 2025.
I recommend reading it every five or ten years. Yes, the advice/wisdom is not only his. I like this quote of his, "All behavior makes sense with enough information, and we are all on our own quest for the simple life."
I borrowed this book from my local library.

The Body Finder (Body Finder, #1)The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This e-book has been in My Digital Library since Aug 4, 2017. It was next in line to be read, and I decided to give this #Young Adult, #Paranormal, #Mystery a chance. I liked it.
While most of the characters are just coping with high school cliques and puberty, Violet has the secret ability to "sense" where murdered bodies lie. She can also sense this taint on the person who kills.
I was entertained by the story and the author's storytelling. My recommendation is, Give it a try.

More Than Nothing (Pine Springs, #1)More Than Nothing by Sophie Hamilton
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I downloaded this Kindle book when it was offered as a Prime First Reads in October 2025.
It really bothered me when the story took the turn of Elenie volunteered to be Confidential Informant as I do not believe enough warning about her risks were involved. I was already annoyed when Frank hit her when she was seen with Roman at the town fair.
I read to the end, and I will not continue this series.
I do not recommend this book.

The Art of Breathing

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This e-book has been in My Digital Library since 2017 when I downloaded it as a promoted item.
This historical fiction tells the story of a young mother diagnosed with tuberculosis in 1950s. The best therapy was isolation in a sanitarium to prevent contagion and treatment with streptomycin, isoniazid, and rifampin. Those medications were still used when I was a pharmacist in the end of the 20th century.
A chronic and life-threatening illness can expose strengths and weaknesses for generations in a family.
I recommend this book.

Zero Day (John Puller, #1)Zero Day by David Baldacci
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The first book of my 2026 Reading Challenge is from our home library shelf. It is a thriller because my husband prefers that genre, and it was his suggestion for me to read it. It has been on the shelf longest of books given to us from other family members. I guess I should name this shelf: Books- friends-recommended-to-me-and-I-am-not-in-any-hurry-to-read-until-now.
