I borrowed this book from my local library because I enjoy reading most books by Rhys Bowen.
I was surprised by the format of this book because the two stories set in different time periods are given different fonts to distinguish between a current time period and the manuscript set in the 1930s. I found this helpful. I got caught up in the mystery story in the manuscript, and I was eager to travel with Emma to Scotland and the Island of Skye.
I gave this novel 5 stars because there are no Nazis in this standalone novel.
