I borrowed this ebook from my local library because it was available when I learned to use the Libby app with my Kindle. I have almost given up reading books by Grisham because I was disappointed by the last three books by him for not being the page-turners I expected them to be.
I could give this one another half star.

Camino Island by John Grisham
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I gave this book to my father for Fathers' Day, and he was disappointed in the book because "there was too much drinking and not being faithful to your wife." A central character does not have to be a paragon of virtue; the character just has to be believable for the narrative to move along.
I liked the book because it held my interest for long periods of time so that I could finish it in 3 days.

 Gray Mountain by John Grisham

I borrowed the copy from my parents as I know they always buy Grisham's books.
Grisham uses this story to tell his readers about the issues of mountaintop removal, poverty in Appalachia, and how free legal aid can help.  His pacing kept me reading to the end of the book.
I recommend it only to fans of Grisham's novels.

The Racketeer by John Grisham

The Racketeer is a book that makes a circuit in our family, after Dad reads his gift, Mom reads it, me, and then my daughter, and so on for we all enjoy the books by John Grisham.

Some of have remarked it was hard to get into and it did not have us grabbed by the end of the first chapter. I blame the first person narration that starts this book, and the reader is uncertain how reliable the narrator is. Building trust between the reader and the narrator takes several chapters until the reader can, at least, trust this narrator to spin a good story.

I recommend this book to fans of John Grisham and the legal thriller genre.
