In Too Deep: A Reacher Novel by Lee Child


I borrowed from my local library.  

I had difficulty staying interested in the beginning of this book.  Was it because Reacher was not thinking clearly since he could not remember why he was where he was at the beginning and we readers had to rely on Vidic to explain things to Reacher.  As Reacher started thinking more clearly, my interest in the story picked up.  

I gave it three stars because it is not my favorite Reacher novel.

The Secret

 

I borrowed this book from my local library.  

This is the type of Reacher book I enjoy because it is more about the detective work as this group of people from different agencies or services try to protect individuals who formerly worked together on a project in India.  

  The ending did drag on a bit too long.  

I rated it 5 stars.

Past Tense by Lee Child

I borrowed this from my local library on Overdrive. I had some difficulty loading it on my Kindle but it worked fine on the Kindle app on my Nook.
I was disappointed in this book because the body count is high. I figured out the danger to Shorty and Patty before Child was finished building suspense to that reveal.
I recommend it only to Reacher fans who are intent on reading every last one of these books.

I am a fan of the series, and I eagerly anticipated #19 in the series.

I enjoyed this entertaining action mystery; but I must qualify my recommendation that this is not my favorite Reacher novel for his time in England and France takes away from a favorite part of mine, the observations about a changing America in a period from 1996 through a current time. Reacher does speak French, thanks to what he learned from his mother, but he is too closely handled and staying on task to have time for observations on the changes he may be observing. I am glad he now has a current passport for I'm eager to see if his wanderings will become international.

I recommend this book to fans of the series.

Never Go Back by Lee Child

I eagerly anticipated Never Go Back because I am a Reacher fan. Child keeps me reading quickly through the book because I am eager to find out what happens next.

I was introduced to Jack Reacher when I read 61 Hours so I was gleeful when I read the synopsis telling me Reacher went to Washington, D.C. to invite Major Susan Turner to dinner. Then I kept turning pages all the way through.

I recommend it for fans of the series. For new readers, I recommend you read 61 Hours before you read this one.

I'm a Jack Reacher fan, and I purchased this short story for $1.99 as an Nook book.
I like that Lee Child chooses to give his fans a back story for the short story. The time is 1986 and Reacher is called from Frankfurt to Washington, D.C. for an undercover assignment.
I recommend it to fans of the series, and recommend new readers start with Killing Floor.

I eagerly anticipated this Jack Reacher mystery as soon as I read the last one.
Child set the mood for a long car ride across the interstates in Nebraska and Kansas at night. The ride is boring and yet you need to stay alert so you do lots of thinking.
I recommend it for fans of the series.

I eagerly anticipated reading the 16th Jack Reacher novel by Lee Child, and I was not disappointed with this prequel which takes us back to 1997 when Reacher is on undercover assignment for the Army.

I enjoyed the suspense which kept me turning the pages and moving from one chapter to the next. I enjoyed the introduction of characters that I recognize from books which are from a later chronological date.

I recommend it to fans of the series. It can also be a good introduction for readers who enjoy action-adventure and mystery.

This is another one of the well-written and entertaining Jack Reacher series. I read this during the time the murders and woundings occurred at a political rally in Arizona, and its aftermath was prominently reported in the news. Those current events gave this work of fiction, written in 2002, a feeling of immediacy.
