This Kindle edition was in my Library since January 2025 when it was offered as a Prime First Reads selection.
It has a dual timeline based on the life of its protagonist who is known by two different names: Elsie Grinder and Lena Taylor. Fear of Communists and Fear of Gossip are important themes in this book.
