I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

Catch A Falling Star (Second Chances #3)

Catch a Falling Star (Second Chances #3)Catch a Falling Star by Merry Farmer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the third novel in the Second Chances series, and it was available from the Hoopla app from my local library.

I enjoy the story Farmer tells about the relationship between Jo and Ben. I was rooting for them to work it out even when I thought she should have kicked him to the curb.

Contemporary romances are too graphic for me to recommend them to my friends.

Better World (Legacy Code, #0.5)Better World by Autumn Kalquist
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This short prequel to Legacy Code has been in My Digital Library since October 23, 2015.

It was an interesting and entertaining science fiction: but I did not want to read the next one.

Whiskey Rebellion: Addison Holmes Mysteries #1

Whiskey Rebellion (An Addison Holmes Mystery, #1)Whiskey Rebellion by Liliana Hart
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in My Digital Library since October 16, 2015, and I am currently reading through My Digital Library in something of a chronological order.

Once upon a time I could not wait for the next Stephanie Plum mystery to be released, and I got tired of the basic plot and snappy conversations. This ebook is written as a similar genre, and I did not like it. If you like that genre, you may like it more than I did.

One Night With a Star: Second Chances#2

One Night With a Star (Second Chances #2)One Night With a Star by Merry Farmer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this novel too. There were some scenes that made this prude blush, but the story and characters were so interesting I kept reading.
I recommend this book too.

A Simple Guide to Creating a Photo Estate

A Simple Guide to Creating a Photo EstateA Simple Guide to Creating a Photo Estate by Mollie M Bartelt
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Mollie m. Bartlett is the co-founder of Pixologie, Inc.

This is a guide to help those of us who want to make a digital archive of our photos. I have been working on scanning the photos from the first 50 years of my life, and I had more than 138 albums in a chronological order to scan when I began this process.

I think I am ready to start using a high-speed scanner at my local library to help me speed up this process.

Sweat

SweatSweat by Mark Gilleo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in My Digital Library since October 10, 2015. I enjoyed this mystery because I was caught up wondering what our protagonist would do to fix his own problems and those of others who were used and abused by others with power and influence.

I recommend this mystery and other works by Mark Gilleo.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In All My Wishes (Riverbend, #1)In All My Wishes by Ciara Knight
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This e-book has been in My Digital Library since July 14, 2016. It is chick lit striving toward HEA. Yet it introduces some mystery about a dead father and an uncommunicative mother that feel unnecessary for this story.

The Scent of Lilacs

The Scent of Lilacs (The Heart of Hollyhill #1)The Scent of Lilacs by Ann H. Gabhart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This e-book has been in My Digital Library since July 14, 2016. The time in the novel is 1964 and set in small-town Kentucky. Yes, it is Christian Inspirational Fiction with the father hoping to be permanently hired at a local church. This book reminds me of the movie, Because of Winn-Dixie when Jocie's dog prayer is answered

I highly recommend it.

Surveillance (Ghost Targets#1)

Surveillance (Ghost Targets, #1)Surveillance by Aaron Pogue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in My Digital Library since September 15, 2015. It is strange to read ten-year old science fiction and start to check off technology which now seems almost normal, that my location is able to be tracked by my phone, Waze, and my Fitbit. The story is also a police procedural mystery. I recommend this book.

There are four books in the Ghost Targets world.

Black Dog (Ben Cooper & Diane Fry, #1)Black Dog by Stephen Booth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This e-book has been in My Digital Library since 2015 or 2016. For some long-forgotten reason, it was not logged into my goodreads account until last year. I enjoyed this police procedural mystery because I like Booth's ability to tell a story and keep me interested with the characters.
I recommend it.

The Broken Places

The Broken PlacesThe Broken Places by Mia Sheridan
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This Kindle book was downloaded November 2024 when it was offered as a Prime First Reads.
This book moved slowly for me, and I found it difficult to stay interested in it. When the plot picked up, it still did not hold my interest for long.
I do not recommend this book.

The Hunter Bride (Hope's Crossing, #1)The Hunter Bride by Cynthia Woolf
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This e-book has been in My Digital Library since July 14, 2016.
I liked the beginning of the story, and I became disappointed with the middle and end of the book. Sure, it has a happy ending that was wrapped up too easily.

The Secret of Isobel Key

The Secret of Isobel KeyThe Secret of Isobel Key by Jen McConnel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This e-book has been in My Digital Library since July 14, 2016. There are dual timelines to tell the story of this book, and I have friends who prefer not to have more than one timeline. The author does a good job of separating them and still tell us a story that is supported by the historical timeline.
I recommend this mystery that requires the protagonist to spend a vacation searching historical records.

In Too Deep

In Too Deep: A Reacher Novel (Jack Reacher)In Too Deep: A Reacher Novel by Lee Child

I borrowed from my local library.
I had difficulty staying interested in the beginning of this book.  Was it because Reacher was not thinking clearly since he could not remember why he was where he was at the beginning and we readers had to rely on Vidic to explain things to Reacher.  As Reacher started thinking more clearly, my interest in the story picked up.
I gave it three stars because it is not my favorite Reacher novel.

All the Old Lions

I am still decluttering My Digital Library by finishing e-books I downloaded when Barnes and Noble had a free e-book promotion, usually a #FreeFriday.

I enjoyed this cozy mystery, and it is appropriate for some of my friends who avoid graphic violence.

I rated it 4 stars.
