I read it because I enjoy Dirk Pitt and Al.
I give it 5 stars because Dirk Pitt is swashbuckling even in an age of RPGs and automatic weapons. Of course Dirk can do what did, and he can keep me entertained.
I recommend it only to fans of the series.

This book was given to my home library by my uncle and aunt who passed it on after reading it. They know I enjoy books by Clive Cussler. This was the first Kurt Austin novel I read.
I enjoy these adventure stories and the wise-cracking heroes.

I eagerly anticipate the release of another Dirk Pitt and Al Giordino adventure, and I rate these books with 5 stars because they are what they are, a great adventure story with well-researched technical details.

The expected cast is present: Dirk Pitt, Al Giordino, siblings Dirk and Summer, vice-president Sandecker, congresswoman Loren Smith-Pitt, and the gang from NUMA. An NCIS agent, Ann Bennett, is added. This is a world-wide adventure.

This book can stand alone for first-time readers and it is a welcome addition for fans of the series.

Crescent Dawn by Clive Cussler

I'm a Clive Cussler fan, and I eagerly anticipate the adventures of Dirk Pitt and Al Giordino. I love the adventures, I love following the research leads, and the suspense of wondering just how those two will save the day.



But it isn't just two anymore; a wonderful cast includes Loren, Rudi Gunn, Summer and Dirk the Younger. This family can be researching totally different projects and still come together to help each other. My one objection was the one time in the story when I was not sure which Dirk was helping an archeological dig as a marine engineer. I figured out which one, and I was quickly back into the story.



I continue to recommend Clive Cussler and Dirk Cussler's novels for their entertainment.

Lost Empire by Clive Cussler

My rating: 3 of 5 stars


Sam and Remi Fargo took me on so many twists and turns I forgot what treasure they were seeking in the first chapter. Oh yeah, they were just scuba diving in an interesting location in Tanzania. Then they travel the world before they solve the mystery and find two sites for archealogists to dig.

Sam and Remi Fargo remind me of the tv series Hart to Hart, but that comparison really dates me.

I enjoy the history and geography lessons in these books.
