About Me

I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

The Lens and the Looker (The Verona Trilogy, #1)The Lens and the Looker by Lory S. Kaufman
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

This ebook did not work well in 3 of my Nooks as the page-turning would stick. I gave up reading this.

The Diary of Darcy J. Rhone (Darcy & Rachel, # 0.5)The Diary of Darcy J. Rhone by Emily Giffin
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I downloaded this ebook when it was free from Barnes and Noble for my Nook library. I was unfamiliar with the Darcy and Rachel series, and this is a prequel to that series. I'm glad it was free at that time because I would have hated to spend money for a 29-page prequel and the rest of this is advertising for the author.
I recommend it only to fans of the series.

In Between (Katie Parker Productions, #1)In Between by Jenny B. Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook was free when I downloaded it from Barnes and Noble to my Nook library. I classify it as Young Adult, contemporary Christian fiction.
It was a quick read with light humor so it was a fun summer-time read. I enjoyed the characters.
I recommend it to readers who prefer this genre.

Camino IslandCamino Island by John Grisham
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I gave this book to my father for Fathers' Day, and he was disappointed in the book because "there was too much drinking and not being faithful to your wife." A central character does not have to be a paragon of virtue; the character just has to be believable for the narrative to move along.
I liked the book because it held my interest for long periods of time so that I could finish it in 3 days.

Sing: A Novel of ColoradoSing: A Novel of Colorado by Lisa Tawn Bergren
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book was free when I downloaded it to my Nook library from Barnes and Noble in 2012. It is the second book of a trilogy, and I had not read the first. The author gave enough information this book could be read as a stand alone; but, I never cared enough about its three principal characters to want to read more of the trilogy. The Christian message was heavy-handed in this book, and I took off a star for that.
