About Me

My photo
I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

Recipes for Love and Murder: A Tannie Maria MysteryRecipes for Love and Murder: A Tannie Maria Mystery by Sally Andrew
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook was offered as a Serial Read during June 2018 from Barnes & Noble.  I enjoyed it enough to add the second book to my "Want to Read list."

It's in There!®It's in There!® by William Morton Hildebolt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read it on the recommendation of my brother who is a friend of the author. It is a well-documented "memoir" of the people on a team at Campbell Soup Company who eventually came together to work on solving the problems that made Prego sauce available to us consumers. It is an easy read.

America's First DaughterAmerica's First Daughter by Stephanie Dray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I downloaded this to my Kindle library when it was on sale. Thanks to another member of my book club for informing me about the sale. This will be our July selection, and I look forward to our discussions.
I enjoy fictionalized book about historical figures for it makes the reading easier for me. I appreciate that the authors of this book inform the reader what adjustments they made to Patsy's story with a chapter at the end.
I recommend it for all readers who have an interest in colonial America.

The GladesThe Glades by Clifton Campbell
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This ebook was free when I downloaded it to my Nook library in 2012. This isn't a novel; it is a script for the first episode of a tv series aired in 2010-2013.

Grimm's Fairy TalesGrimm's Fairy Tales by Jacob Grimm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This ebook was free when I downloaded it to my Nook Premier, and I have just been informed that Barnes and Noble will not be supporting the Premier version before the end of this month. Barnes and Noble offered me the choice of two different discounts on two different Nooks, and my choice should arrive June 11, 2018. Thank you for your service, Premier. I only had to change your battery once in all this time.
Back to my review of Grimm's Fairy Tales. It is a classic and it should be kept as reference. These stories are better told by a storyteller than simply read.

Motor City ShakedownMotor City Shakedown by Jonathan  Watkins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in my Nook library since it was a free download from Barnes and Noble in August 2012.
It is an entertaining mystery with likable characters and a strong supporting cast. I cannot classify it as a cozy mystery because the number of murders exceeds my personal limit of dead bodies per cozy mystery. It does have a strong developing romance between characters.
