About Me

My photo
I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

Ink and Shadows (Secret, Book, & Scone Society, #4)Ink and Shadows by Ellery Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I borrowed this ebook on my Hoopla app thru my local library. I borrowed it as soon as I finished #3 in the series.
I am pleased the author includes the Bibliotherapy list of books recommended after the questions for discussions.
I got called out by Nora Pennington who talks about those readers who read mostly free books on our ereaders. True, but if it wasn't for one free book I would not have found this series.

A Journey in Other WorldsA Journey in Other Worlds by John Jacob Astor
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I downloaded this ebook to my Nook library when it was available for free in Feb 2015. I thought I might enjoy it because I have read other sci-fi books written a long time ago. This was written in 1894, and I could not get past the chauvinism, the colonialism, and the big-game hunting in a new world.
I quit reading and did not finish.

All That I AmAll That I Am by Anna Funder
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

This ebook was in my Nook library since Feb 2013. This book changes characters with every chapter, and it could not hold my interest to continue reading it.
It gets one star because I did not finish after 2.5 months of trying to read it.

The Kingless Crown (Kingdom of the White Sea, #1)The Kingless Crown by Sarah M. Cradit
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

This is the May 2021 Serial Reads so I gave it a chance and quit reading it while I was 16% into the book. I think they finally introduced all the main characters and did most of the world-building. I was not in the mood for a quest so I did not finish the book.

The Book of Candlelight (Secret, Book, & Scone Society, #3)The Book of Candlelight by Ellery Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I borrowed this book on my Hoopla app from my local library as soon as I finished The Whispered Word of this series. I enjoy these characters so much! I enjoy the book recommendations from Nora who owns Magical Books, and I wish the list of recommended books was listed at the end of the book so that I would not have to stop reading and add books to my list called "Look for these."
I highly recommend readers find these book and read them in order.
P.S. Yes, as soon as I finished this one, I started reading Ink and Shadows.
