About Me
- Dee Renee Chesnut
- I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

Tangled Ashes by Michèle Phoenix
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This ebook has been in my Nook library since March 15, 2003 when I downloaded it for free.
I enjoyed the two stories within this book as they were set in the same location. This also has a different twist on most books in the Christian fiction genre.
I recommend it to readers of more recent historical fiction.

Trauma Plan by Candace Calvert
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This ebook has been in my Nook library when I downloaded it for free from Barnes and Noble since 2013. I enjoyed it because I liked the characters. The outcome of the plot was predictable because its genre is Christian fiction.

I Thought You Said This Would Work by Ann Wertz Garvin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I borrowed from Amazon as a First Reads selection. It took quite awhile to start this book, and I'm glad I read it. I enjoyed these characters, and I am glad the road trip ended when it did.

Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence by Anna Lembke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This has given me insights into such habits before the Pandemic: overeating and binging on chocolate; having so many books on my currently-reading shelf; and downloading as many free books as possible. It has given me insights why during the Pandemic those unhealthful habits were reinforced and were joined by the overconsumption of ordering art supplies online. It is to be hoped that abstinence from chocolate and experimenting with self-binding techniques and mindful meditation will help me find a better balance in the way forward.

Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Yes, I warn those to whom I recommend it that it might bring back some uncomfortable feelings about our early days of the pandemic when we felt anger towards those who might infect us despite our best efforts. That one scene with Finn after she visited her mother brought up some uncomfortable feelings I had about being critizied for choices I made.
