A River to Cross by Yvonne Harris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This ebook has been in my Nook library since 2013 when it was offered for free from Barnes and Noble.
It was an entertaining read. There was enough research done by the author for this historical fiction to be believable. I recommend it to readers who enjoy Western adventure stories with a touch of romance.

- I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

The Templar Detective by J. Robert Kennedy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was the May 2023 Serial Read from Barnes and Noble. It was entertaining action-adventure set during the time of Knights Templar and Prince Philip of France.

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
An aunt recommended this book because she knows I have a current interest in genetic genealogy, and she wondered if I thought this book "got it right." Asking her to provide a sample was much easier to do than the subterfuge Rosie and Don went thru. Testing and understanding the results are much easier for a family genealogist to understand these days than at the time of publication.
This book is entertaining, and worth reading.

When the Rain Ends by Mary Ellen Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I read this as a follow-up about a secondary character I met in The Brighter The Light , and I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the first one.
It can be read as a stand-alone.

Rosa's Land by Gilbert Morris
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
The Christian proselytizing at the end of the book was too heavy-handed at the end of the book.

The Brighter the Light by Mary Ellen Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I enjoyed the dual timelines because my hobbies are genealogy and family history. I am aware that people do not know family history because older relatives just would not talk about certain subjects or might tell a myth that explained without answering the question. The family tree in the epilogue was a welcome touch.
I enjoyed this enough to purchase When The Raine Ends.
