About Me

I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

Real Life Organizing: Clean and Clutter-Free in 15 Minutes a DayReal Life Organizing: Clean and Clutter-Free in 15 Minutes a Day by Cassandra Aarssen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I found this at the library after watching the 4-episode HGTV series Hot Mess House hosted by this author. I hoped for more information about the ways to display and store some art supplies I am currently using during this Pandemic. What I learned is she recommends for this Bee not to have more than 3 projects going at a time! NO! But I need this stuff, or I MIGHT need it someday-just like I already had enough art supplies to work on "someday" projects while quarantined when retail stores were closed.
I use the form on page 43 to help me think through this plan of attack: I also am a Ladybug who had sufficient totes to macro-organize my art supplies, if only those were not full of Sentimental Clutter I moved three years ago and kept stored on shelving in the garage. That location might be used for newer Sentimental Clutter/"Projects I got stuck on" so that my art supplies may be stored closer to where I work on a current project.
The book includes a link to her website where there are some free and some items available for sale. I downloaded and printed the form from page 43 plus a page titled, Current Projects which has room for 26 projects--Now that it closer to what this Bee is comfortable with. If you think I am not a Bee, look at the 13 books on my Currently Reading shelf. If you think I am not a Ladybug, look at the 548 books on my Want to Read shelf.
Five stars for being the book I needed RIGHT NOW!

Saving HopeSaving Hope by Margaret Daley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in my Nook library since 2012 when I downloaded it for free from Barnes and Noble. The author builds suspense and keeps the narrative moving. The topic of sex-trafficking is still timely.

Jude the ObscureJude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in my Nook library since I bought my first Nook. It was offered as part of the Kickstart Program which offered Barnes and Noble's Classics. I added it to my Goodreads shelves in 2012.
I give it 4 stars, for if you are required to read this tragedy, then the ebook ability to quickly access footnotes that explain terms no longer in use makes reading for comprehension much easier.
Finally on page 493, I read there is a movie. However, it was unavailable on Netflix and Amazon Prime at the time I read this book.

A Death at Eastwick (The Eastwick Mansion Mysteries, #1)A Death at Eastwick by L.C. Warman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Barnes and Noble offered this as the Serial Read for July 2020. I do not evaluate the Serial Reads for pacing because the format only offers limited chapters daily until about the 22nd and then the rest of the month the book is available to be finished.
This is the first of three mysteries at Eastwick Mansion.

Drawing and Painting with Colored Pencil: Basic Techniques for Mastering Traditional and Watersoluble Colored PencilsDrawing and Painting with Colored Pencil: Basic Techniques for Mastering Traditional and Watersoluble Colored Pencils by Kristy Kutch
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I borrowed this book from my local library, and that is where I will store it for reference because there is more to learn than what I can learn in the month my library is now allowing patrons to borrow books at a time.
There are 15 Demonstrations, a bibliography and color charts for five brands of colored pencils and water soluble colored pencils.
I found it useful.

BlissBliss by Kathryn Littlewood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I downloaded this ebook in 2003 to my Nook library when Barnes and Noble offered it for free.
This is a Young Adult book, probably for middle-grade readers. It is the first of eight books in this series.

No Apologies and No RegretsNo Apologies and No Regrets by Roddy Wix
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in my Nook library since 2013 when I downloaded it for free from Barnes and Noble.
I took away a star because it needed better editing: too many times the author used loose instead of lose; taught instead of taut; and gentile instead of gentle.

The Art of Inheriting SecretsThe Art of Inheriting Secrets by Barbara O'Neal
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I added this Kindle book to my library when it was offered for free with my Amazon Prime subscription. It gets five stars because it is the first book in a long time that I stayed up too late to finish reading.

Urban Watercolor Sketching: A Guide to Drawing, Painting, and Storytelling in ColorUrban Watercolor Sketching: A Guide to Drawing, Painting, and Storytelling in Color by Felix Scheinberger
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I used the information about making my own travel palette with pans filled with paints from the tubes that previous teachers recommended.
Now that I read all the way through once, I am storing it for reference as I do with all the art books I read for I find that my experience has to develop through practice until I have a "light bulb" moment when I understand and can say, so that is what he meant.

A Trick of Light (Stan Lee’s Alliances, #1)A Trick of Light by Stan Lee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Of course, I will accept a free-with-Prime offer to read a book by Stan Lee. Since it is Alliances #1, it is an Origins story.
It is fun to read, especially when I am reading while visiting relatives who live about five blocks from Lake Erie is a small city where Cameron could have lived just down the street.
Excelsior!

Just One of the GuysJust One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in my Nook library since 2013 when I downloaded it for free from Barnes and Noble. This romance was funny and entertaining: a light summer read with a family full of characters. I recommend it to fans of unrequited romance who will sit through a book in hopes of a happy ending.
