About Me

My photo
I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was the Serial Reads selection for March 2020. I classify this story in the "caper" genre-where ex-cons are going to con a bigger con. I enjoyed the characters and the pace of the story.
I recommend this book to other readers who enjoy this genre.

The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin OlympicsThe Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Daniel James Brown
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a Christmas present to my husband from my daughter, and I started reading before he did.
Yes, I think he will enjoy it. I know I did. This author told the story of the races so well, I could feel my breath and pulse grow more rapid as if I were a spectator watching as it occurred.
I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy reading histories of individuals as history is being made. I understand there is also a younger reader's edition of this book that is well-written.

Armed and Fabulous (Lexi Graves Mystery, #1)Armed and Fabulous by Camilla Chafer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This ebook has been in my Nook library since 2012 when I downloaded it for free from Barnes and Noble. It is entertaining and there is enough sexual tension between characters for the series to continue. It exceeded my preference for a lower body count.
