I'm a reader who enjoys posting comments and recommendations about the books I read. You will not find a synopsis with my recommendations because you can just click on the book title for a link to www.goodreads.com for a synopsis and reviews by other readers. I prefer the 3 Reason format: the reason I chose to read it; the reason I liked (or disliked) the book; and the reason I recommend it.

The Fifth RiskThe Fifth Risk by Michael   Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I borrowed this book from Overdrive from my local library. I enjoy this type of non-fiction.
I learned more about the information collected by the government, and how data scientists often use it to provide services we need for the common good. It was disheartening to read how poorly prepared the Trump campaign was about a mandated transition team and what poor choices were made for the administration when the priorities valued more campaign contributions than knowledge and experience.
I highly recommend this for all people of the voting age. Yes, some of the rhetoric does seem like Trump-bashing; yet, if you read with curiosity about what the federal government can do for the common good and where these departments are administered, there are lessons to learn for all of us who feel frustrated that politics intereferes with what might actually be done.
